Medicare Supplement Plans
Also known as Medigap. Medicare supplement plans covers things that Original Medicare doesn't, like copays, deductibles and coinsurance. It does all this with a steady, predictable, monthly bill that you can budget for. And it can't be cancelled. It will be renewed for as long as you pay your premium on time. You can add a Prescription Drug Plan and a Dental Plan to Medicare Supplement Insurance to get even more coverage.
Prescription Drug Plans
Also known as Medicare Part D. Prescription Drug Plans cover your prescription drugs and complement the coverage offered by Medicare supplement insurance. You probably won't need a Part D plan if you are enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan, because most Medicare Advantage plans include it. Different plans cover drugs differently and not all drugs are covered by all plans. You get Prescription Drug Plans through a private insurer, like Mutual of Omaha. You'll pay a monthly premium and an annual deductible. You'll also pay coinsurance (a percentage of the cost for your prescriptions) or a copay (a flat fee) as you use your plan.
Dental Insurance Plans
Dental insurance is more than just your smile. It covers things like x-rays, emergency treatments and of course cleanings too. If you're enrolled in Medicare Advantage, you may already have dental coverage as part of that plan. But if you don't, it can be purchased on it's own or to complement Medicare supplement insurance.
